Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma honors volunteers at luncheon

The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma held a luncheon to honor all its volunteers on Friday.

The Food Bank says volunteers help sort and pack meals, make deliveries to food pantries, and even come up with frozen meals.

“There's so many ways to give to the food bank,” said Matt Jostes. “One of the most valuable things you can give is your time.

10,000 volunteers provided around $1 million worth of free labor for the food bank in 2024.

They also presented several awards:

1. Masalene Jackson Award – David Palfreyman
2. Corporate Volunteer of the Year – Oklahoma Central Credit Union
3. Organization Volunteer of the Year – Tulsa Remote
4. Church Volunteer of the Year – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
5. Culinary Volunteer of the Year – Sandra Sills
6. Community Impact Volunteer of the Year – Robert Meyers
7. Agency Shopping Volunteer of the Year – Jay Pruett
