1 killed in NW OKC collision

A crash in northwest Oklahoma City on Monday resulted in the death of a 27-year-old from Newalla. The investigation into what caused the wreck is ongoing.

A crash left one person dead Monday morning in northwest Oklahoma City, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP said a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Cortney Croney of Newalla was traveling on the northbound lanes of Interstate 44 when it crashed into a semi-truck near Northwest 36th Street.

Croney was pronounced dead at the scene, although the other driver was not injured.

The northbound lanes of I-44 were closed for over two hours early Monday morning, although the roadway has since been fully reopened.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
