EMSA Issues Reminder About Medical Heat Alert As July 4th Plans Get Underway

If you're planning to be outside for several hours July 4 or this weekend, EMSA is reminding everyone that a medical heat alert is still in effect.

Paramedics have responded to at least 47 heat exhaustion calls since June 23. Thirty-five of those people had to be hospitalized.

EMSA is urging anyone who will be outside for long periods of time to drink plenty of water. They recommend drinking a bottle of water per hour.
