Winter is making its presence known across Oklahoma, and if you thought it was already cold, brace yourself—it's about to get even colder.
A winter weather system is moving in, bringing frigid temperatures, wind chills near zero, and a chance for snow.
Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect over the next few days.
What is the weather like on Tuesday?
Skies clear out overnight for the coldest lows of the season so far. Sunshine helps warm us up to nearly freezing on Tuesday.
Most of the snow is light enough, and dry enough to not cause many issues. We will see sunshine today with highs in the low 30s.
Additionally, some communities across the state are reporting power outages, with over 2,500 customers in Okfuskee County alone without power.
On Wednesday, we finally make it back to the 40s! We will see highs in the 50s this weekend.
What's the weather like for the rest of the week?
By Wednesday, the bitter cold will still be in place early, with wind chills in the single digits and lower teens.
However, there’s good news—temperatures will finally improve by the afternoon. Highs will climb into the low 40s, offering a much-needed break from the deep freeze.
A weak front will move through Wednesday night, causing a slight temperature dip, but overall, conditions will be trending warmer as we head toward the weekend.
By late week, highs will reach the 40s and 50s, with a mostly dry pattern in place.
