Happy Thursday, everyone! It is a cold one today!
We had a bit of a warm-up Wednesday before a cold front came through.
Today might just be the coldest day of the season so far!
What is the weather like in Oklahoma on Thursday?
The Arctic air from our neighbors to the north has clipped the state, keeping today’s highs in the mid-30s.
This afternoon, we’ll see a bit of sunshine, but temperatures will barely reach the low 40s, and it will still feel like the 30s.
The story will be about the wind chill and feel-like temperatures that will remain in the 30s all afternoon.
Clear skies and calm winds will make for a frigid evening, with lows in the low 20s across most of the state.
What is the weather like in Oklahoma for the rest of the week?
Expect lows in the 20s on Friday morning, feeling like the teens in some spots.
However, south winds will help push highs into the 40s and 50s by the afternoon.
The weekend promises mild conditions with highs reaching the 60s and possibly 70s before another cold front sweeps in early next week.
There is a slight chance of sprinkles in southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday, with highs climbing into the mid-50s.
On Sunday, expect a warmer, breezy day with highs in the 60s—perfect for any outdoor holiday plans!
Will Oklahoma Have A White Christmas?
Statistically, Oklahoma has a low chance of snow on Christmas Day.
It hasn’t snowed here on Christmas in 12 years, and the last nine Christmases have been snow-free.
However, there’s still hope as we track a couple of systems closer to the holiday. Stay tuned!
