A former Republican candidate in New Mexico is making his first appearance in court after investigators said he orchestrated several shootings at the homes of four Democratic lawmakers.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -

A former Republican candidate in New Mexico is making his first appearance in court on Wednesday after investigators said he orchestrated several shootings at the homes of four Democratic lawmakers.

Authorities said Solomon Pena allegedly hired four accomplices to fire bullets into the lawmakers' homes because he was unhappy with his loss in November.

Authorities said no one was injured in any of the shootings.
