At noon on Tuesday, the Healthier Oklahoma Coalition will be looking at Covid-19 hospitalizations and what they're expecting heading into 2022.

The concern as people get back out after the holiday break is that the infection rate will continue to grow.

According to the CDC, nearly 87 percent of all new Covid-19 cases in Oklahoma are the Omicron variant.

Health officials say Omicron is airborne and spreads rapidly.

But for people who are vaccinated, you might only experience cold-like symptoms.

The CDC says Covid-19 symptoms can appear anywhere from two to fourteen days after exposure.

Right now, many testing sites are pushing their testing capacities.

You might be waiting to get a test, but health officials urge that you should stay at home if you feel sick.

Most students in the metro are back in school starting today.

OCU Law will be going virtual for the first two weeks, a storyline we saw at the beginning of this pandemic.

As for OKCPS, they will be back in their buildings, and are required to mask and quarantine after exposure whether or not they are vaccinated.

On noon Tuesday, the latest information from health officials will be released as they meet to discuss hospitalizations, a growing issue here in the state.
