A judge will consider a last ditch effort to temporarily delay executions for four death row inmates, including Julius Jones, on Monday.

Defense attorneys for the inmates filed motions requesting a stay of their executions.

The four men scheduled to be executed want to be reinstated in a lawsuit they were previously dismissed from.

That lawsuit challenges execution protocols following two botched executions in 2015.

Right now, inmate John Grant is scheduled to have his sentence carried out Thursday.

This would make him the state's first execution in over six years.

The hearing is scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m.
