The woman who died after a crash submerged a vehicle in northeast Oklahoma City was identified, police said.

Susanna Scheiler, 77, died at a local hospital after she was rescued from a submerged vehicle, police said.

The crash happened Monday near NE 23rd Street and Sooner Road.

Two vehicles were driving when they collided in the intersection. The northbound sport utility vehicle lost control and departed the roadway into an overflow pond, police said.

Two of the three occupants were able to get out of the vehicle before it was completely submerged.

Oklahoma City Fire Department's dive team rescued Scheiler from the vehicle less than 45 minutes after the vehicle became submerged.

The other two occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
