Sunbeam Family Services is offering an $1,000 incentive, specifically for early childhood teachers.

In total, they are looking for around 50 teachers to fill roles immediately.

Currently, they have a waiting list for kids that want to be in Sunbeam's classrooms due to the shortage.

"So those 50 teachers are very important to be able to have the start of the school year go well," said Paula Gates from Sunbeam.

Teachers who want to apply must have a child development associate credential, certificate of mastery, or an associate's or bachelor's degree.

The incentive itself would kick in 90 days after employment.

Last month, a survey from Frontline Education showed that two out of three school districts are short on teachers.

It also showed the shortage is worse in cities compared to rural areas.

Sunbeam is hoping the extra $1,000 will help them recruit more educators.
