The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will be talking Friday about what is causing new delays in processing its sexual assault testing kits.

The main problem is a law change, which requires rape kits to be submitted within 20 days.

That means the OSBI went from receiving 40 kits per month to approximately 300 kits.

The OSBI said it is training a new microbiologist to help with the delay.

However, training can take years.
