One person is dead, and nine people are in the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Del City.

Authorities have identified the deceased driver as 33-year-old Rickey Scott. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Scott caused the collision that involved six vehicles.

One of the drivers involved told News 9’s Feliz Romero her car ended up spinning out of control after the crash.

It all happened along Northeast 10th Street and Sooner Road. Jim Gardner was above the scene in Bob Mills SkyNews 9.

“Just avoid this area at all cost,” he said from above the scene.

Investigators said Scott was speeding, lost control and hit several cars.

“It was just a domino effect. I mean all of the cars just started hitting each other and mine went in a 360,” said Jacquelin Williams who was involved in the crash.

First responders rushed nine people to hospitals nearby.

“I heard a lot of tires just trying to stop and my cousin was trying to hold me back,” said Williams.

“The crash scene is very broad and wide in nature. It does take a lot of different agencies to get something like this handled,” said OHP Trooper Eric Foster.

The medical examiner confirmed everyone was accounted for after a lengthy search in nearby fields.

“After a thing like that we have to interview people, we have to take measurements and see who was going where,” said Foster.

Williams said she is thankful she got out without a scratch.

“I’m glad to be alive but it happened really fast and other than that, I don’t even know what else I’m just still shook up about it,” she said.

Due to the passing of Scott OHP said they are not conducting an investigation and no charges can be filed. At last check, another person is in critical condition.
