3 Dead, 2 More In Critical Condition After Payne County Collision

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said two children and a man are dead following a collision in Payne County.

OHP said the crash happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 33 near Cottonwood Road, which is about six miles west of Perkins.

Authorities said how the crash occurred between the vehicles, a Hyundai sedan and a GMC SUV, is still under investigation.

Two passengers in the Hyundai sedan, who are children aged 4 and 7 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old female passenger in the Hyundai was admitted to OU Medical Center in critical condition.

The male driver of the Hyundai and a 3-year-old passenger were injured but were transported to OU Medical Center.

The only passenger in the GMC SUV, identified as 19-year-old Braden O'Rourke of Oklahoma City, was also pronounced dead by medical professionals on scene. The driver of the GMC, a 19-year-old female, was transported to OU Medical Center in critical condition.
