On Monday, 2,000 Oklahomans are going to get their COVID-19 vaccine at Star Spencer High School.

These appointments were booked through the Oklahoma City-County Health Department's website but there are many ways that people can sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine.

You can also sign up through the state's portal, IMMY Labs or other providers like Walmart or CVS.

The vaccine is free for everyone in phases 1 through 4. Only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for people ages 16 and older. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are approved for people ages 18 and older.

As of early Monday morning, IMMY Labs still has appointments available for their vaccine clinic happening Monday at the Embassy Suites in Norman.

IMMY is also hosting another mega vaccine distribution event on Wednesday at the state fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

State leaders said they want as many people as possible to get their shots.

"Now is the time to get vaccinated. Now is the time to step up. We have vaccine supply that is coming in at a good steady pace right now. We are opening it up because we want to get as many people as vaccinated as possible. We want to stop transmission of COVID in the community," said OSDH Deputy Commissioner Keith Reed said.

According to the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, department spokesperson Molly Fleming will go over how all Oklahomans are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and how the distribution is going in Oklahoma County at 11 a.m. on Monday.

OKCPS Director of Health Services Anika Wilson will discuss the value in bringing this vaccination opportunity to the Spencer community. She will also talk about the need for more residents to get vaccinated as OKCPS returns to a four-day, in-person school week.

According to the OCCHD, the Star Spencer event is part of OCCHD’s ongoing partnerships with Black faith leaders in the community. OCCHD said they have partnered with five churches in the Spencer area to highlight the event to Black residents living in Spencer.

Appointments were also made available to the public on vaxokc.com. They are booked up now.

At 2 p.m. on Monday, Gov. Kevin Stitt will be holding a news conference to launch the state's COVID-19 phase 4 vaccination plan.
