The Tower Theatre will become a free COVID-19 testing site on Monday.

The event starts at 10 a.m. Monday and goes until 2 p.m. Testing is free for everyone, even if they don't have symptoms.

Rapid antibody testing and flu shots for both adults and children will also be available.

Organizers are encouraging reservations on the Tower Theatre website but walk-ins will be welcome.

They also say this vaccine clinic is important for the service industry, who they work closely with.

"We work really hard to connect with bartenders and servers in our city. So, it's a natural partnership. Those are often people who don't get a COVID test because they don't have the time or expense," said Chad Whitehead from the Tower Theatre.

Whitehead said the Tower Theatre will host this event every three weeks.

This testing event is part of a new program called CATCH-UP. It's designed to get community organizations involved to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine. It's a partnership that includes the Public Health Institute of Oklahoma, the State Health Department and OU Health Services.

If you'd like to register for Monday's event, you can do so right on the Tower Theatre's website.
