How will Oklahoma ticks and mosquitoes be impacted by the record cold this winter?

News 9 Meteorologist Lacey Swope asked OSU entomologist Dr. Bruce Noden.

Bottom line: since this was record-shattering for Oklahoma in many ways, he's not 100% sure! He says mosquitoes will likely be normal. They may hatch a little later. He suspects there will be less ticks, but not so few that we will notice a big change.

Lots of good info! If you have a topic for 'Science With Swope' you'd like to see, you can text Lacey any time at (405) 645-7605.
