The State Health Department says more than 294,000 Oklahomans have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The OSDH says about 37,000 Oklahomans are completely finished with both doses of their vaccinations. That number is increasing every day. Oklahoma continues to perform much better than other states, ranking 6th in the country per capita in the number of vaccines given out.

Keith Reed with OSDH says there is still more demand than supply and they're hoping drug manufacturers can ramp up production to produce as many doses as possible. Reed says they have not spoken directly with the Biden Administration, but they are ready for any changes in distribution. He says they also are still focusing on Oklahomans 65 and older before expanding to other priority groups.

"This is a group that is at a much higher risk for a bad outcome from COVID so we need to be very intentional as we move through this group that we ensure they have their opportunity to be vaccinated," said Reed.

More than a half a million Oklahomans have registered online on the state's online vaccine portal.
