New information is coming from the State Health Department Friday afternoon on the COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduler Portal.

It led to confusion for some, including the Dental Hygienists Association in the metro. They've had their first shots, but they're having trouble scheduling their second doses.

Dental industry professionals are part of phase 2b of the vaccine rollout plan. But, one dental hygienist tells News 9 when she and others in her field try to book their second shot, they get pushed back to phase 4.

She says the new vaccine scheduling portal was not in place when she signed up for her first dose, so she had to answer all the registration questions when she went to book her second one.

She believes the questionnaire may not be set up right, and she says it no longer offers a place to type in your profession.

"I do think there are some aspects missing on the questionnaire portal. It asks if we are in direct contact with COVID-19 patients, and we obviously don't know if they are a COVID-19 patient or not," said Donna Barnett, of the Dental Hygienists Association.

A spokesperson from the State Health Department says they're not the only group experiencing issues.

They advise people to not skip over any questions on the registration site and urge anyone with questions to call 211.
