IRS Delays Start Of Tax Filing Season To Include Stimulus Package Codes

If you’re expecting a tax refund this year, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.

At this time, the deadline to file your taxes is still April 15.

You can send in your return starting Friday, Jan. 15, but the IRS will not start accepting and processing them until February 12. That’s a few weeks later than in previous years.

This is so the IRS can make sure changes to the tax code resulting from the stimulus package are properly included.
