  10. 2 cups walnuts, chopped

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick cooking spray.

To make the crust & crumble:

  1. In a medium sized bowl, mix together the melted butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt until a cookie dough is formed.
  2. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared 9 x 13 pan.
  3. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.

Caramel sauce:

  1. While the cookie crust is cooking, in a double boiler melt the caramels and whipping cream together until melted.
  2. Remove from heat.

To assemble bars:

  1. Pour the warm caramel over the warm cookie crust and spread to cover.
  2. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
  3. Add the remaining crumbles over the top.
  4. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbly.
  5. Allow the bars to cool on the counter.
  6. Cut into squares and store extras in the refrigerator.
