The quarterfinals are upon us for our Tulsa Tech Game of the Week as Broken Arrow and Union battle on the road to raising a gold football.

Records and history run deep for both programs, so when it comes to Broken Arrow and Union, you can break out all the familiar phrases.

"Who gets the one turnover at the end of the ball game or makes the big play just like all the coaching clichés,” Broken Arrow Head Coach David Alexander said. “It’s going to be the big key to this football game."

Robert Spears-Jennings has two goals: take care of business against Union on Friday and raise a gold football in the coming weeks. He has been the receiver that Alexander has dreamed of: big, long and continues to get by the defender.

"He is the biggest guy on the field,” Alexander said. “Not only does he catch the ball fantastic and runs very well but he is very difficult to tackle."

Spears-Jennings is earning some attention from college programs. On Monday the University of Missouri reached out to Coach Alexander about the talented junior.

Playing in the SEC might be nice, but when it comes to the next level, his eyes seem to be focused elsewhere at the moment.

"I’m a military kid, so I've moved all over the east coast, so I want to feel how the west coast weather feel out there,” Spears-Jennings said.  “The west coast, Pac 12, they like to throw the ball a lot so it gives me more opportunity."

His mom, who serves in the Navy, is his biggest fan. She'd like to see a state championship run before they head south of the Red River at the end of the year to reunite with his dad.

"That’s her wish for me is to graduate early so we can go back to Texas,” Spears-Jennings said. “I'm going to make that happen."
