Wesley Stillsmoking was last seen on October 12th, 2018.

In the months following his disappearance, law enforcement, fire crews, volunteers and Wesley's family searched hundreds of acres in rural Mayes County, looking for this husband, father, and grandfather.

"I just keep hoping that they will find him," said Esther Stillsmoking, Wesley's wife.

Wesley was last seen in a trail camera picture. Search crews found his car abandoned about a mile away.

"He means a lot to me, my grandkids love him, my daughter loves," Esther said.

Wesley's family said he was seen on a security camera at Walgreens in Pryor the night before the trail camera picture was taken. His family searched the area every week for a month.

"My daughter, it's kind of getting her down with people asking and people on Facebook said they saw him at different places and we'd go check and he wasn't there," said Esther.

Wesley's family believes he got lost trying to go to Tulsa to meet up with his wife who was recovering from a recent car accident. They think he ran out of gas, became disoriented, and walked into the woods.

"My heart goes out to the family you know. I'm frustrated that we can't help them more or do more you know," Major Rod Howell said.

The Mayes County Sheriff's Office was forced to call off the search just weeks after Wesley's disappearance because it was rifle deer season, but as soon as it was safe they searched again.

"I hope they find him. He's out there somewhere," said Esther.
