4 Dead, 1 Injured After Crash On I-40 In Canadian County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that four people are dead and one person is in the hospital after a collision in Canadian County Saturday morning.

Troopers say the crash happened on I40 westbound west of El Reno. Troopers say a woman was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 and crashed head-on into a second vehicle with four people inside. Troopers say the woman's car overturned and while the second vehicle rolled into the center median and caught fire. Troopers say all three people in the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first car was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Troopers have not released the names of those involved at this time.
