A woman whose husband was killed by an ex-con running from police in a stolen truck speaks up.

The suspect pleaded guilty to murder in federal court this week.

Darcy Houseman said nothing will bring back her loving, kind, brilliant husband of 28 years, but she said she's forgiven the suspect and is so thankful for justice. Houseman can't help but smile thinking of her husband, Bill, who was her best friend.

"I loved being his wife, we were each other's life," Darcy said.

Darcy said she knew Bill was meant for her, the moment they first met and they only dated for a few months before they got married. They had two daughters together and Darcy said Bill was the proudest dad.

"He was a sucker, a big sucker for his little girls," said Darcy.

Darcy said her husband was a nerd. He loved Star Wars and Superheroes, and he was brilliant: working for QuikTrip on their technical side. She said he could build and fix just about anything.

"I cannot tell you how many wires I found in his closet upstairs," Darcy said.

Most of all, Bill loved his friends, his family, and the Lord deeply.

"I still can't comprehend he's really gone," Darcy said.

Almost a year ago to the day, Tulsa Police tried to pull over Michael Johnson in a stolen truck. Instead of stopping, he sped away, running red lights and driving into oncoming traffic until he slammed into Bill's car and killed him. Johnson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder this week in federal court.

"We are going to seek justice for not just Bill Houseman but for his widow Darcy," said U.S. Attorney Trent Shores.

Darcy said God has given her so many blessings and strength to get through this tragedy. She knows Bill's funny, shy and sweet spirit will always be remembered.

"My best friend, he really was. We don't have that," Darcy said. "Dealing with that, it's just been really hard. So this has been, I'm so relieved, so thankful."

The U.S. Attorney's office recommended 19 years in federal prison as part of Johnson's plea agreement. He will be sentenced in January.
