Metro Christian and Victory Christian meet off in a special Thursday night edition of our Tulsa Tech Game of the Week, where the winner will control the district race.

Just three miles separate Metro Christian and Victory Christian, but there is no separation between the two in the 2A -7 District standings. Both teams are 3-0 in district play.

“If we can win Victory, it actually allows us an opportunity to stumble, or if COVID gets into the way in such an unknown season, it still puts us in a position to win district,” Metro Christian Academy Head Coach Jared McCoy said.

Metro's Levi Korir has been a gift for Metro. McCoy said he’s not just playing running back for the Patriots, he has also stepped up behind the offensive line running the wildcat, showing that if you give him a job, he will take care of business.

"He's been a first down generator for us,” McCoy said. “It seems like we have been doing a good job up front, but people have still continued to stack the box and he has made the guys miss.”

"I haven't since like 4th grade, but it’s funny I got to go in there and take some wildcat snaps,” Korir said. “We have so many different weapons, it’s hard to guard that."

The versatile athlete has big dreams of becoming a lawyer, or maybe a chef, and those aspirations show up on the gridiron.

"Cook on the field and lock them up, so you have to cook on offense and lock them up on defense,” Korir said.
