Before the Broken Arrow Police will start using body cams next year, the department wanted to give the public context about what cameras do and do not show.

It's almost always the use of force that's publicized, then often criticized, through body cam footage. The department wants to let the public see more of their training, so they'll know why force, even deadly force, is sometimes needed.

At the Broken Arrow Police Training Academy, Chief Brandon Berryhill briefed 20 civilians, a few business owners, pastors and civic leaders, about how the department trains on use of force.
