The State Board of Education will hold a special meeting to discuss the audit results for the state's largest school district: EPIC Charter Schools.
That special meeting will begin at 11 a.m. Monday. The only thing on the agenda is the special investigation that was done by the state auditor.
The state says after a presentation on the audit results, they will be discussing possible legal action with the department's attorney, which could include an executive session.
The 120-page audit found in part that EPIC paid nearly $80 million in Oklahoma taxpayer dollars to the EPIC Youth Services Student Learning Fund, which is a for-profit company created by EPIC's founders.
EPIC argues the investigation is all for show, and that the audit is riddled with errors.
"Quite frankly [the audit] is riddled with error, and we think tax-payers should be offended with the 15-months and the resources that were expended on it," said Epic Charter school Assistant Superintendent Shelly Hickman.
The audit has already been shared with multiple agencies across the state. The OSBI, state attorney general, and the FBI are also investigating.
