It's another black eye for the Oklahoma County Detention Center this week after an employee was arrested.
The former jailer was accused of being involved in a road rage shooting incident on Thursday
Jail officials said Ceddriona Givens, 21, resigned after being take into custody. Givens faces a number of felony complaints as a result of the shooting.
“Police responded to a road rage call,” said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “It appears it started in the Del City area.”
Police said a frightened pizza delivery driver called 911 just after 11 p.m. on Thursday. His car was shot at several times near SE 29th and Sooner Road.
Police said it was reported that the victim cut off Givens and her passenger Tommyon Scott, 20, in traffic.
“It appears the victim’s vehicle was hit at least five times,” said Knight. “Thankfully, no persons were hit by this. It also looks as if some businesses along the way may have been struck by gunfire.”
The victim followed the armed suspects for several miles while he was on the phone with police.
Givens drove into a southeast Oklahoma City neighborhood and crashed head-on into the victim as they turned around in a cul-de-sac.
“We heard a big crash bang and came to look and see what happened,” said Aaron LaClaire, witness. “One car was in one spot and one car was in another spot.”
LaClaire said he saw three people run from the crash. One person came back and asked him to call police but officers were already on their way.
Police said while they were on the scene, Given's passenger claimed the victim fired at them.
Officers later found the gun used in the shooting in a trash can and Given's duty-belt in the backseat of her car.
The suspects were arrested at the crash scene. Police said no one was hurt in the shooting or the crash.
