The Castle Of Muskogee is firing up the first night of their Halloween Festival on Friday with new requirements and precautions when it comes to COVID-19 safety.

The Castle opens to the public Friday, October 2, 2020 and will be open every Friday and Saturday in October. The gates open at 6 p.m. and will close at 10 p.m. to all guests.

If you plan on visiting, the staff asks that you buy your ticket online ahead of time not only to keep things virtual due to COVID-19 but also to keep lines moving faster. The online tickets are sold at a discounted rate when purchased at okcastle.org.

Visitors will be required to wear a mask during all attractions from the time you get to the entry gates until you leave. A mask is required inside all haunted houses, hayrides, and other attractions. Visitors will be kept with the group you arrived with in order to keep groups together as a health precaution.

Seven out of the usual 11 events will be offered this year but there will be limited capacity to help keep people physically distanced. These include two haunted houses in the main castle, hayrides, games, and of course food and drink vendors.

Castle of Muskogee Vice President Matt Hiller said they are so happy to see everyone come out again this year for some fun.

“Lots of major changes are happening, but I think if everyone behaves, wears their mask, and acts appropriately, we will have a good fun event,” Hiller said.

Hiller is urging people to buy online and specifically select the day they want to come to ensure entry because if they hit capacity, some people may not get in without a preregistered ticket.
