Norman Elementary School students are heading back to the classroom to resume in-person learning 5-days a week.
On Monday, the district allowed those students enrolled in the traditional learning plan to return to the classroom with hope that other grade levels will soon do the same.
The district says students in middle school will begin an alternating A-B schedule this week and will return to in person learning on Monday, October 5th.
High school students will begin the alternating A-B schedule next week and the district could allow them to return to full time in-person learning on October 12th.
Some teachers and parents in Norman have mixed feelings about the decision.
One teacher believes everyone wants the students to return, but she fears students gathering in large groups throughout the day could pose a risk to safety.
District leaders say the new schedule could change again if Cleveland County spikes into the high-risk level on the state's Covid-19 Alert System.
