The Tulsa Health Department hopes a new COVID-19 safety campaign will get more people to follow health guidelines.

They believe people are so tired of hearing about COVID-19, they’re letting their guard down.

The campaign reinforces three recommended practices: wearing a mask, washing your hands and watching your distance. The health department said exposure to the virus can happen even in a place where people feel safe.

"What we want to remind residents is that the virus is still present in the community and following these basic public health prevention measures really go a long way to keep you safe, your family safe, and our community safe,” Leanna Stephens with the Tulsa Health Department said.

With flu season starting soon, the health department said this is a good time for a message that might help prevent the spread of both viruses.
