Suspect In Custody After Police Pursuit Ends With Crash

Oklahoma City police say they have a suspect in custody after they led police on a pursuit on Saturday.

Oklahoma City police say they have a suspect in custody after they led police on a pursuit on Saturday.

According to police, the chase began when officers spotted a vehicle pulling a small trailer that matched the description of a robbery suspect. When officers attempted to pull the car over, the driver took off onto I-44 eventually making his was off of the highway near North Walker. Police say the chase reached speeds of 70 mph before the suspect crashed near NW 36th St.

Police say the suspect attempted to run away on foot and tried to climb to the top of the First Christian Church on the corner of Walker & NW 36th but was taken into custody by officers at the scene. OKCPD says the suspect was hurt in the crash was checked out by EMSA.
