A new restaurant in Broken Arrow is celebrating their grand opening by giving to those in need.

As Casa Tequila owners cut the ribbon on their new restaurant, they shared how they are also giving back.

Carlos and Ana Aguirre own Casa Tequila and said they support several organizations in Guatemala.

They are asking people in the community to donate shoes that they will send to children in the Central American country who need them. They said that because of COVID-19 and the shutdown of the economy, the kids need even more help.

Carlos Aguirre said it's important for them to give back, especially during tough times.

“When we see the children, when they open the boxes with the shoes and any stuff, they get really happy and that’s something we keep in our hearts,” Carlos said. “That’s really nice and something we enjoy because God is good and everything he gives to us, it’s nice to share with other people.”

They plan to donate the boxes around Christmas. If you'd like to donate, they ask you bring them in before November.
