The Mustang Police Chief, Rob Groseclose is expected to release more details and a video capturing a deadly police shooting from the beginning of June, Thursday at 4 p.m.

On June 5th, police said Benjamin Ballard was swerving all over the road and officers believed he was drunk.

Police said they pulled Ballard over on suspicion of DUI at a Phillips 66 gas station near East Southwest 59th Street and South Mustang Road.

Mustang officers said the shooting was justified and witnesses said they heard officers telling the suspect several times that they didn’t want to shoot.

"Anytime you use force against another human being… it’s not something that we enjoy,” said Chief Groseclose. “This is a horrible horrible thing. It is part of our life, it is part of our job. It’s part of the oath that we have sworn to uphold. We just need to make sure we’re held accountable.”

It’s unclear where the footage is coming from because we’ve learned Mustang police do not have body worn cameras.
