OSBI To Take Over Norman Sexual Assault Investigation

Norman’s Ward 8 city councilor shared on social media, with permission, what happened to her neighbor Saturday night.

In the post, Alex Scott said someone allegedly broke into her neighbor's side of the duplex after her father dropped her off about midnight and sexually assaulted her.

She went on and said the alleged attacker dug his elbow in the victim's neck telling her, “Maybe next time, you’ll learn your lesson.”

At the end of the post, she said she believed the attack was intended for her.

Norman police said officers were dispatched to the duplex Saturday night but can only share very vague details of what happened.

The incident report detailed the caller was crying and screaming for help as police were on their way.

During the investigation, the Norman Police Department became aware of allegations of an officer releasing the councilwoman’s address.

Norman Police Department said in a press release the claim will be investigated and the OSBI will take over the investigation.

News 9 reached out to Scott after she shared her story on social media, but she declined to comment.

Right now, investigators do not have a suspect description to share.
