Oklahoma City police were on the scene of a Thursday morning homicide in southeast Oklahoma City.

The homicide took place just after 1 a.m. on the 1800 block of Southeast 22nd Street.

Investigators said a man attempting to break into a business was shot by 33-year-old Larue Bratcher, the owner of the business.

The attempted robber was identified as 42-year-old Daniel Hardwick.

Authorities later discovered Bratcher was operating a marijuana grow without a proper license. Police confiscated 480 marijuana plants worth an estimated $1.5 million.

Bratcher is currently in the Oklahoma County jail on an unlawful cultivation of marijuana complaint.

The district attorney's office has yet to decide if it will charge Bratcher in the homicide.
