UPDATE: OKLAHOMA CITY -- FBI agents in Oklahoma City hope to catch an ex-Marine fugitive through digital billboards.

The FBI, Oklahoma City Division, will launch the digital billboards in 12 states in an effort to find Charles Alan Dyer. The 31-year-old ex-Marine from Duncan is wanted by the FBI for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

According the Stephens County Sheriff's Office, Dyer was scheduled to be in court on August 15 on charges he raped a 7-year-old family member. However, he didn't show up for court.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on August 17. According police, they received information Dyer was in the Houston, Texas area. After combing the area in Houston, Dyer was not found.

According to the FBI, Dyer is considered armed and dangerous. It's believed he has several weapons and traveling throughout the southeastern portion of the United States.

Digital billboards with Dyer's picture will be continuously displayed in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and South Carolina.

But as the FBI intensifies it's efforts, Dyer's online supporters seem to be doing the same. On the web site for the American Resistance Movement a Houston-based member is threatening to kill FBI agents involved in the hunt for Dyer.

Still agent Simmons says although Charles Dyer has the potential to be dangerous he hasn't proven to be. He was last spotted in Houston on Sunday in the truck of an elderly man who offered to take him to another city.

"He had the opportunity to assault the man and steal his truck to cause harm to him but he didn't," said Agent Simmons. "He got up and left."

Dyer's family says the former marine is simply running for his life.

Dyer's mother gave News 9 a lengthy letter saying the girl Dyer accused of raping denied it happened and Dyer ran because he thought he was suspected of arson.

"We have taught our children a respect and love for this country and a respect for the judicial system ....were we wrong?" she writes.

In a letter Dyer wrote to his family the day he disappeared he said the government is trying to kill him and if he doesn't come home in 90 days he is dead.

Dyer is described as a white man, 5'10" to 6'0," 175 to 200 pounds, brown hair (shaved) and blue eyes. However, it is believed he may have grown a beard, lost some weight and his head is no longer shaved.
