Man Faces Murder Charges in Wife's Shooting

A man, who reported to police that his wife was shot during a home invasion, was arrested on murder charges.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man, who reported to police that his wife was shot during a home invasion, was arrested on murder charges.

The shooting occurred in the 3200 block of SW 23 Street Tuesday afternoon.

When Oklahoma City police arrived, the victim's husband, 44-year-old David Hammond, said two Hispanic males had entered the home and shot his wife.

Hammond was questioned further about the shooting and was later booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of first-degree murder.

The victim, 41-year-old Delola Hammond, was transported to the hospital in where she died.
