M.E. Officially Rules On Carina Saunders' Death

The State Medical Examiner has officially ruled the death of 19-year-old Carina Saunders a homicide.

Saunders' body was found October 11, 2011, in a field in Bethany. She was stuffed inside a duffle bag.

The Medical Examiner has determined Saunders cause of death was a "violent death." The official autopsy report is expected to be released in about 10 days, and more details about her death are expected to be released.

Bethany Police said Saunders was tortured and murdered in a southwest Oklahoma City apartment. Police said her death was a warning to others involved in human trafficking.

Prosecutors have not charged anyone with Saunders' murder, but there are several suspects connected to the case.
