The Oklahoma City Barons opened up the Calder Cup Playoffs in dominant fashion Thursday with a 5-0 win over the Houston Aeros in Houston.

Goalie Yann Danis wasn't called upon much in the contest, but kept a clean sheet on the evening, coming up with stops on all 14 shots. Matt Hackett didn't fare as well for the Aeros, giving up four goals on 37 shots in the loss.

Oklahoma City scored just one goal in the first, off of the stick of Tyler Patlick in the 14th minute of the game. It wasn't until late in the second period that the Barons truly broke the game open.

In the 15th minute of the period on a power play, Teemu Hartikainen was set up by Magnus Paajarni and Hunter Tremblay to take a 2-0 advantage. At the 15:53 mark, Tremblay got one of his own and 50 seconds later Tanner House scored to put the Barons up 4-0.

Anton Lander capped things off for OKC in the third period, scoring in the 16th minute.

Oklahoma City will try to make it back-to-back wins over the Aeros at 7:35 p.m.
