The weekly conference awards continue to roll in for Oklahoma junior Keilani Ricketts who was named this week's Big 12 Player of the Week.
Her latest honor is the first Player of the Week honor and it brings her a total to 12 conference distinctions in her career, with 11 of those awards being Pitcher of the Week accolades.
She becomes the first OU player and the sixth student-athlete in Big 12 history to earn both Player and Pitcher honors, and the fifth to claim both in the same season.
Last week Ricketts helped the Sooners top rival Texas hitting .714.
OU found itself down 2-0 in Friday's game, but Ricketts smashed a home run in the first OU at bat in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead in half and ignite the Sooners comeback.
On Saturday, she connected on another run in the third while she drive in a season-high five RBI in the 9-3 win. Ricketts was 2-for-3 with one homer and a double.
On the mound, Ricketts tallied 13 strikeouts on Friday, for her 18th double-digit strikeout game of the season and the 55th of her career.
Texas A&M junior Mel Demezich was named the conference Pitcher of the Week.
Oklahoma gets back to action in the final conference three-game series of the regular season starting Friday on the road against Iowa State at 4 p.m.
