The sentencing for a former Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper convicted on two felony counts has been postponed.

Ronald Arganbright was due in court Wednesday morning in Beckham County. Last month, a judge found Arganbright guilty of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and use of an electronic device to facilitate sexual conduct with a minor.

Prosecutors claim Arganbright had sexual contact with a then-15-year-old girl and sent her text messages encouraging her to run away with him.

He was fired in February 2011 after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigation.

The Daily Elk Citian reports that Arganbright faces up to 15 years in prison.
