Teens Injured In Crash With Semi Near Newcastle

Two teens were injured Tuesday night in a crash east of Newcastle, troopers said. A 16-year-old boy was critically hurt when the Dodge pickup truck he was driving struck a semi truck as he was merging onto Interstate 35 from state Highway 9 West. Two teens were injured Tuesday night in a crash east of Newcastle, troopers said.

A 16-year-old boy was critically hurt when the Dodge pickup truck he was driving struck a semi truck as he was merging onto Interstate 35 from state Highway 9 West. He was pinned for about 20 minutes before being freed by firefighters from Goldsby.

His passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in fair condition.

The driver of the semi truck, 31-year-old Alexander D. Stout, of Saulsbury, Tennessee, was not injured.

The names of the boys injured have not been officially released.
