A murder arrest warrant has been issued in the case of a missing Oklahoma City woman Tuesday.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, Susan Louise Freehauf, 52, was last seen on Thursday, September 20. Freehauf was reported missing by her employer after she did not show up for work.

“It is shocking,” said Brandon Williams, missing woman’s neighbor. “Because I live right here.”

Williams knew something was wrong when detectives showed up across the hall at Freehauf's apartment. Witnesses told police, Freehauf and the murder suspect, 48-year-old David Shores lived together.

Police said out of concern for her whereabouts, a co-worker went to check on Freehauf at her apartment complex on Monday, September 24.

The co-worker told police Freehauf’s front door was open and a man who identified himself as “David” was inside the apartment. “David” told the co-worker that Freehauf suffered from a medical episode and was at a hospital in Tulsa. “David” also said that he was in Freehauf’s apartment to get clothes.

According to police, “David” was also in possession of Freehauf’s cell phone and was answering her calls claiming that Freehauf was in a Tulsa hospital.

Police Sergeant J. Combs called Freehauf's cell phone and set up a meeting with "David" at a local store. When "David" failed to show up, Sgt. Combs said he spotted Freehauf's vehicle and stopped it at a gas station. The driver identified himself as "David" and when the sergeant checked his person, he found Freehauf's driver's license, credit cards and ATM receipts for the $200 in David's pocket.

David Shores was arrested on outstanding warrants and transported to the homicide office.

The OCPD executed a search warrant for Freehauf's apartment Tuesday afternoon. During the search, detectives located several large blood stains on the living room carpet and pad. The report said, "one stain was so large and saturated that it was not yet dry." Traces of blood were also located on the wall in the living room, a vacuum, bathtub and clothes in the washing machine.

Police said Freehauf's body has not been located.

Police said at this time, they believe David is the murder suspect.

“They are following any leads they may have,” said OCPD Officer Megan Morgan.

Police ask the public to call the homicide tip line at 405- 297-1200 with information related to the case.
