A single dad living in Tulsa is trying to figure out how to replace more than $1,000 worth of work tools he says someone stole from his truck.

Galveston Brown is an electrician and says he can’t get back to work without tools.

Brown says he’d only been living in his apartment about a month when thieves broke into his truck and stole his livelihood.

“I work my butt off every single day and I do it by myself, and then somebody just comes along and takes everything,” he said.  “All my impact drills, saws, flashlights, all of my hand tools.”

It was Brown’s 6-year-old daughter who first noticed things on her dad’s truck weren’t quite right.

“My truck was beeping, actually, and the ignition was all ripped out,” he said.  “I guess they had taken the tools they had stolen from my truck and started trying to get in there.”

Brown says whoever broke into his truck apparently used his tools to try and steal it but couldn’t.  He says that’s a silver lining because he’s completely dependent on the vehicle to get his daughter to school and to get him to work.

Brown says he needs his tools to get back to work and, with his little girl to support, he’s not sure what to do.

“I don’t really ask for help from nobody and people that know me, know that,” he said.  “If I had a message for whoever has my tools – get a job, use those tools.  If you are going to have them, use them.”

Management at the apartment complex says they have a zero tolerance policy for crime and have increased patrols the past couple of months.

If you would like to help, Brown has set up a GoFundMe to help him repurchase his work tools.
