A high-profile murder case, dating back to 2016, has reached a verdict in Oklahoma County.

Today in court, Burt Franklin, a former Tulsa Dentist, was convicted of first degree murder, as well as soliciting murder.

The first victim in this case was identified as 19-month-old Lincoln Lewis.

ER doctors said Lincoln suffered a substantial head injury and brain bleed consistent with abuse.

Franklin was taken into custody, and video evidence was collected from the scene.

Soon after the initial arrest, a second case formed against Franklin.

While he was in jail, his cellmate was working as an informant to Oklahoma City Police.

Investigators said evidence proved Franklin was trying to pay someone on the outside to kill his ex-girlfriend Roxanne Randall.

Randall was Lincoln’s mother.

Through each turn in the case, Franklin and his attorney maintained his innocence.

This afternoon, a jury unanimously convicted Franklin in both cases.

The jury recommend life without the possibility of parole for the murder charge, and life for the solicitation of murder.

“I anticipate we will ask Judge Truong to stack those sentences together. Mr. Franklin is not going to be released ever again,” said Gayland Geiger, a prosecutor of the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office. “Without a doubt it is a testament to the dedication of the men and women of the Oklahoma City Police Department, of the detectives who worked this case, who worked tirelessly to track down every piece of evidence there was.”

Franklin will not be sentenced until October 19.

It is unknown at this time if Franklin's defense team plans to file an appeal.
