Police say a man is dead after allegedly being shot by two security guards at a Tulsa apartment complex early Wednesday.

Officers were called to the Tamarack Place Apartments in the 1000 block of East 60th Street just before 1:30 a.m. September 5.

Police say shots were exchanged between two security guards and 34-year-old Ronald Steven Manson, who was shot and killed.

Police say Mason was banned from the apartment complex but showed up anyway. They said the security guards made contact with Mason but he pulled away, drew a gun and shot one security guard in the hand.

Both guards returned fire and shot Mason. Police said he died at the scene.

Police said they questioned and released both security guards. Their names have not been released.

Police say the security guard is at the hospital and is going to be OK.

Police spent several hours on the scene collecting evidence and talking with witnesses and family members.

Sandra Brown just moved into the complex and said she heard the gunshots as she was looking after her grandsons.

She said she was heartbroken when she found out what happened.

"That was somebody's brother, uncle ... probably in the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong thing," Brown said.
