Officials are investigating a shooting after a man was discovered with gunshot wounds near the Dallas Junction.
Police arrived at the scene near I-35 northbound to I-40 westbound around 4:00 a.m. Monday for a welfare call after someone noticed a wounded man lying on the side of the highway.

When police arrived on scene they noticed the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He also suffered from a broken forearm. The victim told police he was thrown from a moving vehicle.

Officials said the victim is described as a black male. He is expected to survive. No suspect information has been released.
