Broken Arrow police arrest a man accused of kidnapping and assaulting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her and her children.

Officers say a woman contacted police on Sunday and told them her ex-boyfriend, Isreal Monroy, held her against her will the night before at the Canterbury Inn & Suites in Broken Arrow.  She said she was only allowed to leave to check on her children and that Monroy said if she didn’t come back, he would kill her and her children, police say.

According to police, the woman said this happened after she discovered Monroy had started using Methamphetamine again and she decided to end their relationship and move out.

Police say the woman stated that Monroy asked her to bring some of his belongings to his room at Canterbury, but when she arrived, he took her keys and phone and forced her to stay on the bed.  She said he began looking through her phone and accusing her of cheating on him.

She told officers that Monroy then started threatening her and he slapped and hit her several times.

Police say the woman also told them that Monroy, when he finally agreed to let her go to check on her children, said if she did anything stupid that her and her children would die and “if I go to jail, when I get out I’ll kill your whole family.”

Officers say the woman left, checked on her children, and then went to police to report the incident.

Monroy was found at the Canterbury Inn & Suites, police say, and arrested for kidnapping, threatening a violent act, and domestic assault and battery.
