Voters across the state are gearing up for Tuesday's primary run-off election. For Republicans, that means picking a candidate for governor to run against Democrat Drew Edmondson.

Candidate Kevin Stitt made his fortune in the Tulsa area, founding a mortgage company that works nationwide. Now, he wants to use his business experience to transform state government.

At one of his campaign stops of the primary runoff, Stitt told supporters he's confident, but it's critical they get their supporters out to vote.

"We think it's going to be a tight race, so we're telling all of our voters to get out there," Stitt said.

Stitt has roots in Norman, graduated from Oklahoma State University and set up his business headquarters in Jenks.

He's spent the last year-and-a-half on the road.

"It's been a blast for me. I've been to all 77 counties, meeting people all across the state, and I've enjoyed the process," Stitt said.

He said his campaign polling shows him leading and the next milestone is closing out this step of the race.

“We're ready to finish strong tomorrow, win this, and then rally the Republican base and go win in November as well,” he said.

Stitt plans to vote early Tuesday then watch the election returns with supporters at his company headquarters.
